| Hills v West 19th August 2006 Hills lost to West 17-18 at Hughenden. West of Scotland were the opposition for Hills in their last friendly before the start of season 2006/07. It was Hills that opened the scoring after 5 minutes with a Ross Curle penalty but the lead was short lived as Gordon Bulloch went over for a try to the visitors. The try was unconverted but a penalty by Sinclair after 35 minutes gave West an 8-3 lead at half time. After 60 minutes it was 15-3 to West who were threatening to overrun the home side. Fortunately for Hills Stuart Todd was on the end of a passing move inside the Hills 22 aimed at blunting the West attack which saw him run almost the length of the pitch to dot down between the Milngavie side's posts for a try converted by Ross Curle with 15 minutes remaining. With 5 minutes left Will Marshall barged over the line following good play by the Hills forwards. Curle converted to give Hills a 17-15 lead which looked to have given the home side a win they did not deserve but it was West that managed to gain victory at the death with a Sinclair penalty.
