| HJRFC 2ndXV v Biggar 4th November 2006 Hills won 27-15 Hills 2nd XV gained a valuable away win at windswept Biggar with a performance that for the most part was highly polished The first half was dominated by the visitors forwards with locks Gallacher and Gillespie putting in great shifts which reminded older Hills supporters of Murray Bell at his best. It was the visitors impressive no 8 Adam Kemp that opened the scoring following good mauling by the Hills pack and this was followed soon after by Stuggy crossing the line following a good passing movement that started 60 metres back by Michael Wrathall and Mousey Both conversions were missed but Hills went in happy leading 10.0 at the break If Hills thought that they could finish off Biggar quickly they were sadly mistaken as the home side within 10 minutes of the restart soon found themselves in front by 15 points to 10 thanks mainly to some precious kicking from Hills no 10 Gollum With 30 minutes left to play Hills could have folded but lead by the inspirational Alan Cahoon they soon began to take the game to the home side. The forwards were starting to dominate proceedings with good rucking and mauling and it was no surprise that Vinnie barged over in the corner following excellent play by Weir Auben and Gollum were now starting to control the game and it was soon after that Hills scored again with Kemp going over following good driving play. The try was converted to give Hills a 22 points to 10 lead The final score went to Hills flying winger Stephen Dewar who beautifully collected a difficult bouncing ball to sprint through the opposition defence to tie things up for Hills Final Score Biggar 15 HJRFC 27 Team Wrathall, Todd, Paterson, Cahoon, Frodo, Gollum, Auben, Vinnie, Weir, Walker, Gillespie, Gallacher, Mousey, Kemp, Elder .Subs Nico, Wiggy,Nash,Dewar Hughenden is the venue for the 2nds next fixture vs GHA 11th Nov KO 2pm |
