| The Hippos beat Hawks 28-12 Hills Hippos managed to make it 6 wins out of 7 against Hawks 3rds ,the Anniesland Stags, in a keenly contested derby match at Hughenden which was played in an excellent spirit. At the end of the 80 minutes Hills ran out winners 28 -12 On a pitch that was ideal for running rugby it was Hills John McComisky that controlled the game for the home side with some jinking runs and great tackling. It was only down to John lacking support during his surging runs that Hills only lead 14 - 7 at half time. McComisky continued in the second half as he did the first by adding two tries to put the game out the Stags reach although it was the visitors who fought well until the end to score a very good Tait try which was not converted Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the day was the chance for some of the Hills under 18 squad to be given a run with the seniors and the opportunity to rub shoulders with the likes of the inspirational McComisky Match report based on a conversation between John McComisky and Alan "Cocktail Drinker" Cahoon |
