| Hughenden v Waysiders 7th October 2006 Hughenden lose to Waysiders 43-12 Hughenden's first foray into the cup end in a gallant defeat at the hands of Waysiders Drumpellier in Coatbridge. A strong wind dictated the game from the start with WD playing with it at their backs. They raced in to a quick lead with six unanswered scores. 30-0 at the turn it looked liked it could have been a cricket score but in the second half with the wind Hugh's got a try (S Robertson) and con after 10 mins, from a well worked catch a drive. Hughs pinned WD in their 22 for most of the second half but could not breach the defence until 10 mins from time with a charged down clearance and try (M Christianson).Sorry for the terse report but when the ref fails to show and the local boy stands in with West shorts on you know its going to be a tough day, Enough said! MOTM M Christianson, DOTD S Low (no boots). Final score 43 -12, not 46-5 SRU website. Your ever watchful Roger Melly. |
