| RHC12 Hillhead Jordanhill 0 After a long break from games, the Ladies XV travelled to RHC ground in Edinburgh for the first outing of the year. A reasonable pitch given the night before allowed rugby to be played. Hills kicked off with the wind at their backs and immediately put RHC under pressure. In fact the hills dominated the first forty rarely out of the RHC 22m. The old addage points = prizes did not occur, two missed pens being our only result. After the turn around RHC came in to the game but stout defence meant a game played mostly in the middle third for long periods. RHC's first try came from a kick through and a very unfortunate bounce of the ball of a foot, 7-0. RHC upped the ante with rolling mauls, and their bigger forwards eventually began to tell. A series of infringments from Hills lead to a tap penalty being driven over, 12-0. Hills tried gallantly to get back in to the game but to no avail. Best for Hills, Kerry McF with a great display of lineout throwing given the wind. Kitch's thoughts, "beaten by a better side, need to get the killer edge back and none of the Edinburgh sides will be looking forward to a visit west". Next up GHA away. |
