All the News That's Fit to Print (and Some That Probably Isn't)

26th February - Last ever league match on the big pitch at
Hughenden
. The last ever league match to be played on the
historic big pitch at Hughenden will kick off at
3pm on Saturday
22nd March
when Hills host Aberdeen in Premier 2. We will
have a full events list for the day, including a special lunch for
former players. Tickets for the lunch (two courses, coffee,
programme and gate admission) will be £20 and anyone who
wishes to attend should please contact Gordon Taylor as
detailed
here


18th February - Joe Stafford's meat. HJRFC are proud to
announce the finalisation of a sponsorship deal between the
club and Grampian Meats. The conclusion of this will mean that
man mountain Joe Stafford will now receive a regular portion of
raw meat on a monthly basis. Please see below for a photo of
Joe with the first installment. (click on the picture for a larger
version)

2nd October - Andy Hopkin and Simon Merry. Please click

24th September - Hills lose 52-15 away to Selkirk, match report
here. The game was covered by Scottish Rugby Radio and will be
broadcast on Sky channel 0195 at 9pm on Monday 24th. It can
also be listened to along with reaction from Keith Robertson on
the Scottish Rugby Radio website (see our
links page) on their
channels 18, 19 and 20.

16th September - Hills lose second home game of the season

13th September - 6 Nations 2008 application forms. Forms are
now available either from this website, behind the bar at
Hughenden or on the Hillhead sports club website. Click

5th September - RWC ball boys.
Despite the sad fact that former 'Hills' player, Dougie Hall, won't
be appearing at Murrayfield in the Rugby World Cup games,
HJRFC will still have a presence on the field by way of ball-boys
Michael Connolly, Adam Plunkett and Kenneth Green - all from
our thriving junior section. Congratulations to the lads, we hope
you enjoy your experiences.

2nd September - Hills lose first league match of the season
going down 15-17 to West at Hughenden. Click

26th August - HJRFC's first league match of the season will be
at Hughenden on Saturday 1st September vs West. This will be
a double header with the 2nd XV also playing West at
Hughenden on the same day. Please come down and support the
boys as they kick off this new league campaign. KO 3pm

The match report for the Hills v Ellon game has not yet been
posted, this is mainly due to some wild promises on the part of
the webmaster about getting the player's input on Saturday
after the game disappearing in a haze of Mad-Dog and
Kopparberg

26th July - DOUGIE HALL
Hills are sorry to hear of the injury sustained by Dougie
(formerly of HJRFC) which has ruled him out of the Scotland
squad for the forthcoming World Cup. We wish him a speedy
recovery and all the best for the coming season when he returns
to full fitness. Click

Note that in addition to published fixtures, the 1stXV first game
of the season will be at the Kilmarnock RFC tournament at 1pm
on 11th August

21st July - Glasgow Warriors Touch Rugby Tournament takes
place at Whitecraigs RFC on Sunday 29th July. Gaffer will be
taking names for this at training over the next week. If you can't
make it down to training but would be keen to play please email
him from this link
