A major feature of this season’s club dinner will be awards for Stuart Ross, captain of the 1st XV and Heather Lockhart, one of the stalwarts of the Ladies 1st XV.
Stuart in all his ten playing seasons with the “Hills” has never been one to advise of his considerable achievements in the number of occasions he has appeared for the 1st XV; BUT it can now be noted that these top two hundred. Stuart has been 1st XV captain for the past four seasons, an honour he richly deserves given his outstanding contribution to the successes the Club has achieved over the past few seasons. The image of Stuart holding the Premier 3 trophy in April 2010 was the one chosen by Chris Paterson to underpin his “Rugby Values “ video on achievement – if you have not watched it please check it out via Google – and its use is well merited.
Heather, in the most recent Ladies 6N game vs Italy, received her 60th Cap for representing her country, another attainment which is unlikely to be beaten by too many.
Both Stuart and Heather will have their performances recognised at the forthcoming “Hills” annual dinner which is to be held on Saturday, the 30th March in the Clubhouse at 19.00 for 19.15. It is to be hoped that as many of our members, both playing and non-playing, will make the effort to attend the Dinner. Tickets are priced at £30.00 ( thirty pounds ) and you can book them now by adding your name to the sign-up sheet which will be placed shortly in the Sports club bar. It should be noted that NO monies will be collected on the night of the dinner ; tickets must be paid for in advance.
Principal speaker is Willie Young, the former FIFA referee ; Club President, Gordon Taylor, will be in the Chair. It promises to be a tremendous occasion ; and the committee hopes for a good attendance to pay ample tribute to both Stuart and Heather, and other members who have contributed to our success as a Club.
