HJRFC VACANCY: WOMENS HEAD COACH

We are looking for an experienced coach who has enthusiasm, drive and commitment with the ability to motivate, challenge and develop our adult women’s players.

Hillhead Jordanhill RFC women’s 1 XV team play in the Tennent’s Premiership and were both league runners up and Sarah Beaney Cup winners this season. The Club have developed and currently boast Scotland internationalists and support a youth section, some of whom are on the age grade pathway programme. We wish to create a development programme with a view to forming a 2XV team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the women’s coaching team, playing programme and development of both players and teams. Working closely with the team leadership, Club Vice President (Women) and Club Committee to develop, support, communicate and deliver a thriving positive rugby environment.

Applicants should have:

  • Qualifications: UKCC Level 3 or equivalent, or working towards the new equivalent.
  • Experience as a club or school coach and previous involvement in the development of talented players.
  • Knowledge of team attacking and defensive strategies, skills and techniques relevant to players ability.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate players.
  • Communicate effectively throughout the club.
  • To effectively and enthusiastically plan all training sessions and matches.
  • Agree achievable and realistic targets with players and leadership.
  • Agree a transparent selection policy with players and leadership and ensure pathways throughout the club from minis to 1st XV.
  • Design and execute training which is effective and relevant to the player and squad development and goals.
  • To work with coaches, volunteers and club committee to achieve the best outcomes for the club.
  • Availability for all training and matches unless agreed with Women’s VP.

Remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.
